Model steam railways
The magnificent 5” railway layout is the heart of the exhibition. More than 3 miles of track are installed, and a switchyard, sliding stage, switches, turntable and loading terminal all add to the realistic and smooth operation of the trains. The railway track is accessible for the visitors and guarantees diversion, watching as lorries are loaded, containers unloaded and silos emptied, and above all the trains - steaming for miles around the track. But it’s not only the participants who have the pleasure of riding around the hall and inhaling steam! For a small fee the public can have a ride on a steam train on the combined 5” and 7¼” layout, where guest drivers run their narrow gauge and light railways. And for locomotives in gauges 0, H0, I, II and IIm there will be several hundred metres of track where these smaller scale models can also enjoy a good run on raised level layouts.
