“Echtdampf-Hallentreffen”, the Indoor Steam Engine Meeting, has attained cult status. The world’s largest indoor steam engine meeting presents the world of livesteam! Altogether around 600 international exhibitors, active participants, model owners and clubs will be presenting over 1000 steam engines, models and original machines. Model steam ships chug around the pool, stationary steam engines of all shapes and sizes are up and running on table top displays, and the famous Sinsheim tracks are unique in length: 3.4 miles(!) of 5” track and over 1 mile of combined 5“ + 7 1/4 “ track. And for steam model engineers of all ages everything they need for their hobby can be found at the stalls of the commercial exhibitors.  

Up until now, this legendary livesteam event has been held annually at the Sinsheim Exhibition Centre, but as from January 2010 the organiser, Messe Sinsheim GmbH, will be holding the event in halls 1 and 2 of the KARLSRUHE Trade Fair Center, on a total of 25,000 square metres. ‘Messe Karlsruhe’ is a clearly structured and straightforward fairground with excellent infrastructure, thus offering optimal conditions for the re-launch of the Indoor Livesteam Meeting. The event at the new venue will continue as before, to be the world’s largest indoor railway track, with steam engines, stationary models, traction engines and steam ships adding up to the accustomed and much-loved flair of ‘Echtdampf-Hallentreffen’. Spectators, model owners and exhibitors can all look forward to many exciting new impressions and contacts in Karlsruhe!
